LED: Thinking beyond corporate savings

While most LED applications I've learnt about - during business school and as a consumer have revolved mainly around two major applications/markets: the obvious television (and computer monitor) market/application of the technology for low power, better quality picture and the major LED tubes/bulbs installation/replacement for businesses and institutions. As LEDs are "greener" obviously the business of supplying them to large institutions at a hefty one-time cost is a tempting revenue model. From another perspective, how about offering LED benefits in a different form to villages without electricity in developing countries? That's exactly what Khaitan is doing and it might be worth keeping a watch on what's coming up next from his factories! Read the article to know why.
